Video Preview: Inkubus Sukkubus’s “Death Comes (The Marriage)”
by Meri on Mar.06, 2010, under Artist News, Top News
“Death Comes” by Inkubus Sukkubus is the sort of song you would hear in your dreams. Right at that indistinguishable point between latent consciousness and the first stage of sleep.
Let yourself become entranced by lead vocalist of Inkubus Sukkubus, Candia, as she weaves a tale of unrequited, yet dangerous love. In her powerful, yet soothing voice, she sings such lyrical wonders as, “Your skin against my lips feels alien to me, a stone with softness yielding unnaturally.”
The “Death Comes” drum track is pretty straight-foward. Its slow rock vibe is accessible to many levels of drum players. So, for those of you dreaming of playing drums for a famous Goth band, get this!
Video Preview: Bet On Damone’s “Roll The Dice”
by Meri on Feb.26, 2010, under Artist News, Top News
So far, Damone’s “Roll the Dice” has been one of my favorite RGS songs. Noelle’s honest vocals are fun to sing along to and Mike’s guitar riffs are always entertaining.
There is just something uplifting and poignant about this song. From Noelle’s heartfelt lyrics to the overall build and craftsmanship of the song, “Roll the Dice“ is a team favorite. In the chorus Noelle sings, “Place your bets, roll the dice, don’t dwell on your sacrifice, your winnings start over.” Life truly is an inspiration for this band.

“Hook, Line & Sinner” by PA-based hardcore group Texas in July is guaranteed to be a hot seller, but (spare me while I make this joke) the drum track for “Hook Line & Sinner” is on fire.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so call up The One That Got Away, and rock your way back into his (or her) heart by singing The Gufs’ “Beautiful Disaster.”
Back in October, we announced that veterans of the Wisconsin music scene, The Gufs, were working with RockGamer Studios to bring their music to RBN.
Now, we are excited to announce that the single “Beautiful Disaster” from their 2006 album A Different Sea, has been submitted to RBN for playtesting, and should find its way to the Marketplace in the near future.
Here’s a preview clip to whet your appetite.
Ballyhoo’s “Cali Girl”: A Little Bit Reggae, A Little Bit Punk, A Lot of Fun
by Meri on Feb.04, 2010, under Artist News, Top News
Ballyhoo!’s “Cali Girl” is a song best played around a bonfire in July, or around a fireplace in February…heck Rock Band fans will want to play this song anytime, anywhere. Grab some friends and a few beers (or sodas for you under 21s) and jam out to Ballyhoo!’s feel good reggae-rock tune about a girl who’s “going to California.” “Cali Girl” starts off in true reggae style, but the catchy chorus smacks of punk rock. By the time the second chorus rolls around, everyone in the room will be singing it.
Lead singer Howi Spangler’s vocals are never overly challenging, while the bass charts fall right in the pocket. Both bass and guitar will be entertaining for all levels of players. For Rock Band players who have not played or listened to reggae, ska, or jazz lately, the laid back groove may trip you up.
Here’s a Rock Band Network preview of “Cali Girl”:

First footage of Jonathan Coulton’s “Creepy Doll” in RBN!
by Chris on Sep.16, 2009, under Artist News, Top News
Hello out there! Chris from RockGamer Studios here, with my first post for the site. I’m the resident bass chart author, and have been dabbling a bit in venue design as well, so I’m proud to present the first footage from our forthcoming RBN release of Jonathan Coulton’s “Creepy Doll”. We’ve got our traditional full band preview video to showcase a little bit of what you can expect in terms of the charting, but we’ve also got a first here; a solo vocals run, captured specifically to showcase the background imagery. For a song as rich in atmosphere as this, the lighting, animations, and camera cuts had to be just so, and hopefully we’ve accomplished that goal here. Take special note of the pulsating lights flicking on and off, throbbing in time to that oh-so-sinister doll’s heartbeart. And if you like what you see, please be sure to mention so in the comment section below!
A quick note, too; if you haven’t been following us on Twitter, or haven’t subscribed to us on Youtube, these videos are probably totally new to you. On the other hand, if you have been following us and subscribed to us, you already know, since you get the latest updates and videos as soon as they go live! So don’t wait. Go! Cetan Clawson “White Heat” video preview
by Miguel on Aug.31, 2009, under Artist News, Top News
We’ll cut to the chase. Here’s our first video preview of “White Heat” by Cetan Clawson and the Soul Side.
We’ve made no secrets about how excited we are to work with Cetan Clawson. The 21-year-old electric blues prodigy has the talent to follow in the footsteps of Stevie Ray Vaughan, and a style reminiscent of the great Jimi Hendrix.
At 2 minutes, 13 seconds, “White Heat” is exactly that: a fireball of fast, frenetic, and incredibly challenging guitar work that doesn’t take a break for two seconds. This isn’t just random fretwork, though… every single note contributes to the amazing groove of the song. The bass and drum parts are no slouches, either! We’re certain you’ll want to pick up “White Heat” as soon as the Rock Band Network store launches.
Special thanks to Chris for staying up late last night to create a special intro/outro sequence for our preview videos.
