Canadian rock singer Dan Rothery's eclectic and unique style reflects inspiration from a variety of experiences in musical genres and international culture. Growing up exposed to his mother's prowess as a classical pianist, he experimented with a number of instruments including piano, saxophone, and guitar before choosing to focus on songwriting and lead vocals. A native of Vancouver, the coastal area of which is unusually prolific with musical talent, Dan has traveled extensively the world over and lived internationally for several long stints; in much of his songwriting, Latin American, African, and Arabic expressions can be found by the discerning ear.
