Final Roundup of RBN 1.0 Content

by on Mar.11, 2011, under Top News

With the pipeline for RBN 1.0 releases permanently shut down, this is our final batch of content that will be compatible with Rock Band 2, but we’re definitely going out with a bang. With sixteen brand new releases that can be played in both Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3, we’ve got a wide selection of material to keep eager players at the ready! With the debut of new artists such as rising young Guatemalan guitar shredder Hedras Ramos, Florida’s hot rockers Stereoside, and NYC-based hardcore outfit Severed, alongside returning favorites such as Kiev, Nightrage, and Super Gravity, these sixteen tracks will definitely get you revved up and raring to go.

Don’t worry, though — we’ve got more stuff on the way for Rock Band Network 2.0, featuring for the first time in RBN content, playable keyboards and harmonies! Stay tuned to this website or our Facebook page for the latest updates on all the cool new music we’ve got coming in the very near future.

The full release schedule, including links and preview clips, is after the jump.

With the upcoming approach of the new RBN 2.0 system (featuring harmonies and keys), we’re getting more and more of our backlog of releases out there before the 1.0 pipeline shuts down. This week, we have had twelve new songs released, including a pair from the CI Records stable with metalcore acts With Life in Mind and Where the Ocean Meets the Sky, the return of quirky alternative space-rock fan-favorites Kiev, and only the second tune to have a full band rating of devil-heads on each instrument, Majestic’s “Voodoo Treasure”! While pickings are slim for PS3 owners this week, you do get another backfill of classic Amberian Dawn, so be sure to check that out as well!

This has been another watershed week for us! With the release of “Learn to Live” by Architects on Saturday evening, we’ve officially become the first Rock Band Network authoring group to break the 200-songs-released threshold — nearly twice as many as our nearest competitor. With more coming through the gates on a daily basis, we’re not showing any signs of slowing any time soon!

On top of that, we’ve finally completed and released the debut EP from RBN’s prog rock darlings Children of Nova; you can now play the full “The Complexity of Light” six-song mini-album in its entirety.

With additional songs released this week by noteworthy groups such as Chiodos, Fake Problems, of Montreal and more, you’ll definitely want to check out all of what’s on offer!

New Releases, January 18th, 2011

Over the past week, we’ve had a massive NINETEEN new songs added to the store on Xbox 360. This is our biggest week to date since the launch of the Rock Band Network itself, back in March of 2010. This flood of new releases includes several returning artists from that week, no less.

The band that put symphonic metal on the RBN map, Amberian Dawn, is back with three new tracks from their first two albums; “Lullaby”, “Morning Star”, and “Sunrise”. And the highly requested progressive rockers from California, Children of Nova, have two more new songs available from their debut EP The Complexity of Light, “The Fall of Aphonia” and “We Collide”. On top of that, a whopping five tracks from the Bullet Tooth stable of artists have been released this week, including tracks from artists such as Affiance, Memphis May Fire, and Victory in Numbers. And finally, top-selling RBN artists Attack Attack! (of “Stick Stickly” fame) are back with their third single for the Network, the amusingly-titled “Sexual Man Chocolate”.

PS3 owners have four songs from our back catalogue to look forward to this week, with hits by The Agonist, Children of Nova, Iron and Wine, and Sunny Day Real Estate all making the jump today. And Wii owners, unfortunately this is the last week of RBN content on your system, but it’s going out with a bang, with tracks by Cetan Clawson & the Soul Side and Firewind!

The full release schedule for all three systems, including links and preview clips, is after the jump.
