ROCKGAMER STUDIOS AND SYMPHONIC METAL GROUP PYTHIA SET TO PUBLISH ‘ARMY OF THE DAMNED’ TO THE ROCK BAND NETWORK

If you are into beautiful raven haired sirens coupled with intricate guitar work, synth solos, and strong bass tracks, you needn’t look any further than the U.K.’s very own Pythia.

Led by enchanting songstress Emily Ovenden, (also a member of chart topping vocal ensemble The Mediaeval Baebes and Celtic Legend), and Ross White and Marc Dyos (formerly of Descent), Pythia is well known for their powerful soprano vocals and incredibly tight instrumental work. With intricate breakdowns, fiery frets and synth solos, the band is a powerhouse of classical metal.

by Meri on Jun.07, 2010, under Artist News, Top News

Hugh Cornwell has been a staple of the Rock and Roll scene since before the vast majority of Rock Band players learned how to say ‘Peaches’ (The Stangler’s first hit). An illustrious songwriter and never-tiring performer, Hugh Cornwell is a legend.

According to his online biography, Cornwell had “ten hit albums and twenty-one top forty singles” while fronting the incredibly successful UK band The Stranglers.

Video Preview: Scott Attrill brings groove to Rock Band Network

by Meri on May.28, 2010, under Artist News, Top News

Scott Attrill aka Vinylgroover

One of the greatest benefits of the Rock Band Network is its ability to introduce genres that you would typically not find on Rock Band. Don’t get us wrong, we love hard rock guitar riffs (of course), but we also love the variety of music available on RBN. Since its March launch, the Rock Band Network store has already featured a wide range of non-rock genres, including classical, hip-hop, blues, and country. RockGamer Studios is about to break new ground again, and we hope you brought your dancing shoes.

We simply haven’t seen enough techno and hard dance on RBN. Scott Attrill, aka Vinylgroover, is here to fix that. By blending trance, hard dance, and techno together, Attrill has created a sound that is powerful, dynamic, inventive and undeniable catchy. With top singles that are played on radio stations across the world and download figures that skyrocket past normal expectations, Attrill is one of the world’s most popular DJs.

Video Preview: “The Funeral” Hardly the End for Band of Horses

by Meri on Apr.22, 2010, under Artist News, Top News

Sometimes, things are so beautiful, it’s hard to analyze them and deconstruct them rather than just letting them be their glorious, elusive self.

There is something universally appealing about Band of Horses’ hit ballad “The Funeral”. Lead vocalist Ben Bridwell’s voice is emotive, haunting, and soothing. Although the lyrics are a bit ambiguous, there is something about the track that wraps itself around the human heart.

Savage Minotaur’s Tasty Licks: Melted Picks and Broken Sticks

by Meri on Apr.21, 2010, under Artist News

This minotaur looks pretty savage to us.

When we first discovered the parcel crudely addressed to Rockgamer Studios, we opened it wearily. The package appeared overnight as if out of thin air. Wrapped in a leather binder, the words Savage Minotaur were scrawled across the blank CD.
