This week sees the debut of five new artists on the Rock Band Network, as well as the reappearance of another. From the gypsy-rock stylings of My Wooden LeG, to the keyboard-heavy shred of Bob Katsionis, the slow jam of Teflon Don, the grunge-influenced Gladhander and rising metalcore heroes Serianna, the new artists all bring their A-game to the table. And the third track from Fallen Angel’s Crawling Out of Hell to be released so far rounds out a fantastic week of releases!
First up this week, while you may not be familiar with Bob Katsionis by name alone, you’ve undoubtedly heard his work by now, most notably as the rhythm guitarist and keyboardist for Greek power metal act Firewind. Today, he makes his solo debut with the instrumental track “The Nightrager“. This hard and heavy power metal track can be looked at almost as a “Fire and the Fury” Part Two, but with the emphasis firmly placed on the insanely challenging keys part. Guitar and drums are no slouches, either, and the whole track is rounded out with a surprisingly disco-influenced bassline. This track can be downloaded now for 160 MSP, and a 2x Bass Pedal edition is forthcoming shortly as well!
Next up, we have the return of Rochester’s metal warriors Fallen Angel! Out today is the third song from their ambitious debut concept album Crawling Out of Hell, entitled “Sinner’s Vengeance“. This track, reaching nearly 5 minutes in length, draws obvious comparisons to 80′s thrash legends such as Megadeth, Testament, and Anthrax, with its extremely fast pace and wicked challenging instrumentation. You can download it today for 160 MSP!
Making their debut today, from Eugene, OR, is the power trio Gladhander. Taking influences from classic grunge acts such as Mudhoney and Screaming Trees, their single “Bad Things” (taken from their full-length album One Against Three), can be downloaded now from the Rock Band Network for 160 MSP!
gypsy rock outfit My Wooden LeG is another artist brand new to the Rock Band Network today. With the release of “A Circus“, the lead track from their EP of the same name, this trio brings their unique blend of Romanian folk and indie rock to the masses. Comparisons have been made to artists such as Tom Waits and Gogol Bordello, but they definitely make this sound 100% their own. “A Circus” can be downloaded now for 160 MSP!
Rising metalcore shredders Serianna also make their Rock Band Network debut today with the first of two songs hitting from their forthcoming debut full-length. The title track of the album, “Inheritors“, is an intense, in-your-face assault with plenty of change-ups and clean vocals to complement the screams of passion. Guitar and bass both are filled with HOPO chains aplenty, and the drums are going to give even experienced Rock Band players a run for their money! It can be downloaded now for 160 MSP, and a 2x Bass Pedal edition is forthcoming
Finally, rounding off this week’s releases is an unexpected treat. Memphis, TN’s hip hop star Teflon Don joins the ranks of the Rock Band Network today with the release of his downtempo hit club single “3 In The Morning“. Fully taking
advantage of the Rock Band 3 features, this R&B track hits all the right notes with amazingly soulful three-part harmonies (courtesy of guest vocalist Antonio Cooke), alongside guitar, bass, keys, and a drum track to nod your head to. This track can be downloaded now for 160 MSP!
