SAN DIEGO PROG GROUP CHILDREN OF NOVA TO FOLLOW THEIR SMASH RBN DEBUT WITH “ARCAEDION” FROM “THE COMPLEXITY OF LIGHT” EP
Children of Nova have found a new fanbase after being catapulted into the Rock Band Network stratosphere by the success of their RBN debut, “The Complexity of Light.” Since then, these new fans have been hungry for more of their beautiful, intense, and technically-complex brand of prog-rock. Soon the wait will finally be over, as RockGamer Studios and Children of Nova are pairing up again to bring you another amazing track, “Arcaedion,” from the band’s debut EP, The Complexity of Light.
Not surprisingly, Colin Ingran’s drum work stands out once again for its uniqueness and complexity on “Arcaedion.” With nuanced cymbal play and a fantastic drum solo at 2:45, this chart will challenge the toughest expert drum players. Our lead drum author, Leigh, who crafted the drum charts, had this to say:
“This drum part is especially difficult and unique in the verses. Never before have we seen such intricate hi-hat/ride patterns in a song in Rock Band.”
For all of those people who thought that Teo’s vocals would never reach the heights of “Complexity of Light” you nay sayers are sorely mistaken.
At 2:50 the band breaks into a tasteful guitar interlude and Teo produces an incredible whistle tone packed with vibrato that would make Mariah Carey jealous.
“Arcaedion” has a decidedly more pop punk feel to it, but Children of Nova stay true to their progressive sound, with complicated lead guitars, unique bass lines, and — as always — powerful vocals.
Children of Nova’s debut EP, The Complexity of Light, is an imaginative saga, with a story arc following other-worldly characters on a mission to save a netherworld. Check out their Myspace page to get the full scoop on the story of Nova, Corbin and other players on the Arcaedion planet.
As of publishing, “Arcaedion” is going through external playtesting on the Rock Band Network Creators site. If you would like to know more about becoming a RBN playtester, please visit the Creators web site.
As always, stay tuned to RockGamer Studios for Children of Nova RBN announcements.
Oh, and in case you haven’t noticed (but of course you have), our YouTube guru Chris aka S1ckH4nds has done an awesome job giving our preview clips a sleek new style. Nice job, Chris!
