One of the greatest benefits of the Rock Band Network is its ability to introduce genres that you would typically not find on Rock Band. Don’t get us wrong, we love hard rock guitar riffs (of course), but we also love the variety of music available on RBN. Since its March launch, the Rock Band Network store has already featured a wide range of non-rock genres, including classical, hip-hop, blues, and country. RockGamer Studios is about to break new ground again, and we hope you brought your dancing shoes.

We simply haven’t seen enough techno and hard dance on RBN. Scott Attrill, aka Vinylgroover, is here to fix that. By blending trance, hard dance, and techno together, Attrill has created a sound that is powerful, dynamic, inventive and undeniable catchy. With top singles that are played on radio stations across the world and download figures that skyrocket past normal expectations, Attrill is one of the world’s most popular DJs.

Major accolades have come Vinylgroover’s way since he first began ten years ago. I-DJ has named Attrill “the new king of Hard Dance” and Mixmag considers Attril to be “one of the best the hard dance scene has to offer”.

A veteran of the dance scene, Attrill has toured the UK for over ten years and has guest DJ’d for Tranzaction and Goodgreef and performed with Paul Oakenfold and Underworld.

He has also DJ’d at popular international hard dance and techno festivals like The World Electronic Music Festival, Godskitchen, and After Hour Power.

Right now, Attrill is currently working on his new company, Traffic Records, as a producer and a DJ and working with Riot! Records to help bring the hard dance genre to listeners everywhere.

To date, Attrill has two albums, Mega (Riot, 2009) and Bass Junkie (2008) and tracks on major compilations including Hard Dance Mash Up (2008, Riot Recordings), New Wave Ep1 (2008, Riot! Recordings) and Filthy House for Dirty Stop Outs 2 (2009, Riot! Recordings). Scott Attrill’s list of singles and compilations is incredibly long.

Attrill’s popular mix “Hot Stuff” (Mega) is going to be available on RBN soon, along with “Twister” from the same album, and his single “2 Invade (Stadium Mix)”.

The drum track for “Hot Stuff” is incredibly hard. Our authors were trying to emulate the drum machine and believe us, you will have to be as accurate as a machine to nail this chart. The guitar track is also intense. With a couple of blindingly fast strumming patterns and varied patterns of every color, this track is a guaranteed challenge.

If you take a peek at the preview video, it’s not hard to see that the bass track may be played on a number of levels. Here is the time to have your younger sibling or other relative that may not play on expert, jam out with you and strum one gem constantly, and feel good about mastering an Expert section.

Scott Attrill’s “Hot Stuff” will be coming to RBN soon. If you can’t wait for more entrancing beats, check out Scott Attrill’s website http://scottattrill.com/
