Savage Minotaur’s Tasty Licks: Melted Picks and Broken Sticks

How had they found us? Considering that we are a web-based company, it seems as if only the most omniscient being could truly pinpoint RGS’s whereabouts. We are not the type of company to ignore a demo delivered from on high, so we gave it a listen.
When one hears the word “minotaur,” many things come to mind. The myth of the half-man, half-beast born from the ancient Greeks is just one of them. The minotaur was a creature of power, ferocity and sheer mystery. The Greeks constructed a giant labyrinth to keep the Minotaur confined, but he continued to devour the townspeople, much like the music of Savage Minotaur.
“Melted Picks and Broken Sticks” is unlike anything we’ve heard thus far. With a dark and edgy sound full of instrumental gymnastics and finger crunching feats, Savage Minotaur seems like a force to be reckoned with.
This song has it all: ridiculously complicated padwork and kick drum authoring, guitar shreds traveling at the speed of light, and a super solid bass groove that keeps everything grounded.
After listening to this song a few times, it entrenched itself inside our brains, leaving us forever altered. Who, or should we say what, is Savage Minotaur and what is this mythical music they are poised to contribute to Rock Band Network? Keep your eyes out for an interview soon as we peel back the layers behind Savage Minotaur.
