A New Wave of Surf Punk from The Riptides

We are incredibly excited to announce that RockGamer Studios is bringing acclaimed punk act The Riptides to the Rock Band Network! This Canadian based punk act has often been compared to long lasting staples of surf punk such as The Queers and punk forefathers The Ramones.

RockGamer Studios is authoring five blistering Riptides tracks. The songs include “Dial M for Murder” and “Call Me” from the group’s 2009 album Tales from Planet Earth. From their 2008 EP Mental Therapy, The Riptides have signed on to bring “Return to Blood Beach” and “The Pale Rider” to RBN. Rounding up the setlist is “Friday the 13th,” a song from their rare seven inch limited edition release, Tough Luck.

The Riptides have been rude, crude, and full of attitude for over a decade, just the way punk rockers should be. Their catchy riffs and surf inspired bass tracks pair perfectly with super fun layered harmonies reminiscent of the Beach Boys.

Over the years, The Riptides have gained both a loyal fan base and a hefty backlog of interviews, reviews, tours and more. Their hit “Return to Blood Beach” was on EA’s Skate 2 soundtrack. Despite their many years in the music industry, the guys are still down to earth pranksters who like to have fun and don’t mind cracking a crass joke or two.

The Riptides aren’t ready to follow the pack. Rather than latch on to quickly passing fads, they have perfected their surf-pop-punk sound, by subtly crafting it over their eleven-year career.
