Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so call up The One That Got Away, and rock your way back into his (or her) heart by singing The Gufs’ “Beautiful Disaster.”
Back in October, we announced that veterans of the Wisconsin music scene, The Gufs, were working with RockGamer Studios to bring their music to RBN.
Now, we are excited to announce that the single “Beautiful Disaster” from their 2006 album A Different Sea, has been submitted to RBN for playtesting, and should find its way to the Marketplace in the near future.
Here’s a preview clip to whet your appetite.
Starting with the acoustic intro, “Beautiful Disaster” is rife with chords on guitar. This song challenges one’s ability to play chords swiftly and accurately. So for all you gifted Rock Band guitarists, see if you can gold star this track.
For those of us who can never contort their fingers into the right positions for chords, rejoice! This bass track is incredibly fun, with single notes roving up and down the scale, and it will make even the most chord-challenged player look good!
One of the highlights of “Beautiful Disaster,” which is not shown in this preview, is the unexpected ethereal “guitar” solo. Miguel, our founder, had this to say about The Gufs’ unique decision to bring string instruments onto the track:
“The Gufs’ guitarist, Morgan, thought it would be really cool to play the violin solo instead of guitar in that section. We latched on to his suggestion and were amazed with the results.”
Authors at RockGamer Studios were excited to get a chance to map an entire set of violins to the guitar track. The violin solo is a pleasant surprise and super entertaining to play. A few unexpected curve ball notes every now and then will keep even expert guitarists on their toes.
