CI Records was formed 1989 in Lancaster, PA by Jeremy Weiss, and started mainly as an outlet to release vinyl from his band at the time. Over the past twenty years, they have amassed an impressive catalogue of releases from artists as diverse as August Burns Red, The Juliana Theory, Onelinedrawing, The Pink Spiders, and Sense Field. We are very proud to be helping them represent the label on the Rock Band Network! RockGamer pulls NYC band Super Gravity to the Rock Band Network

by Miguel on Sep.25, 2009, under Artist News, Top News

SuperGravity_LogoSeems like more and more bands are jumping on the RBN bandwagon these days, and who can blame them? Rock Band Network appears poised to become the iTunes for interactive music.

The latest artist to sign with RockGamer Studios is NYC band Super Gravity, who absolutely floored us at a local gig in the Lower East Side. The trio poured their hearts out for the crowd, wowed everyone with their original material, and closed with a rendition of “Johnny B. Goode” that would make any fan of Back to the Future proud.

Have you ever been to a show and wondered to yourself how come the band isn’t playing sold-out concert halls? Well, that’s exactly what we thought about Super Gravity, and felt compelled to do something about it.

After the show, we approached singer/guitarist Adam Cane and told him “We HAVE to get you on Rock Band.” A few signatures later, here we are, announcing the inclusion of their single “Makeup/Breakup (Original Version)”. You can listen to it on their Facebook fan page, MySpace profile, or iLike page.

RockGamer is working with the band to remaster “Makeup/Breakup (Original Version)”, so expect improved sound quality in the in-game version of the track.

To all you labels out there, keep an eye out for Super Gravity… you’ll be hearing a lot more about them real soon.

Dance-punk hits RBN with Fake Shark-Real Zombie!

by Chris on Sep.25, 2009, under Artist News, Top News

FSRZAnother brand new artist announcement for you! We here at RockGamer Studios are proud to bring the eclectic, genre-defying stylings of Canadian foursome Fake Shark-Real Zombie! to Rock Band Network later this year! They will be joining the RBN lineup with four songs taken from their recently released “Angel Lust” EP; the title track “Angel Lust”, “Horses In Heaven”, “Running For The Razors”, and “Sestril Levante”. These four tracks will also be available on their soon-to-be-released second full-length album, “Meeting People Is Terrible” (which is currently available to all the lucky folks living in Japan).

FSRZSince forming in late 2005, the band (named after a pivotal scene in the gory Lucio Fulci classic, “Zombi II”) has been terrorizing Western Canadian audiences with their unique blend of screamo vocals, spooky ska, off-kilter metal, gang vocals, and whatever else is necessary to achieve their galvanizing, electrifying ends. Having opened for such noteworthy acts as Mindless Self Indulgence, The Klaxons, and Hot Hot Heat, and with a new album produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (of Skinny Puppy fame, and who has worked with artists such as Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Queensryche, and Marilyn Manson), FSRZ! are set to take the world by storm. The RockGamer Studios crew couldn’t be happier to present their “Angel Lust” EP in its entirety to an audience of rhythm gamers worldwide. With a sound that’s been compared to everyone from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane’s Addiction to The Mars Volta and System Of A Down, these four tracks are sure to make a splash.

Watch their video for “Angel Lust” below:

To preview the full tracks from the “Angel Lust” EP, please visit their page at Last.FM, or simply click on any of the song titles below. You can also get up close and personal with the band like any good social network-ite at MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter.

Guitarists, time to flex those fingers. Drummers, warm up your kick pedals. Vocalists, start doing your pitch exercises. Today, we’re extremely pleased to announce the addition of another international band to the RockGamer Studios family, and would like you to join us in welcoming Finnish symphonic metal group Amberian Dawn to the line-up! Their songs “River of Tuoni” and “He Sleeps In A Grove” will be available later this fall for Rock Band players to download via the Rock Band Network.

Since 2006, Amberian Dawn has been blowing audiences away with their extremely technical blend of symphonic metal and operatic vocals. Their debut album, “River of Tuoni”, was released in 2008 to great acclaim, and earlier this year they released their sophomore effort entitled “The Clouds of Northland Thunder” via Ascendance Records in Europe, KHY Suomen Musiikki in Finland and Marquee Avalon in Japan & Asia. Led by their composer, keyboard and guitar virtuoso Tuomas Seppälä, and fronted by the amazingly beautiful and talented vocalist and lyricist Heidi Parviainen, their powerful songs will grab you and leave you breathless.

The band is currently preparing for their second European tour, where they will be joined by Epica and Sons of Seasons. For more information on Amberian Dawn, please be sure to check out their website and their Myspace page. First footage of Jonathan Coulton’s “Creepy Doll” in RBN!

by Chris on Sep.16, 2009, under Artist News, Top News

Hello out there! Chris from RockGamer Studios here, with my first post for the site. I’m the resident bass chart author, and have been dabbling a bit in venue design as well, so I’m proud to present the first footage from our forthcoming RBN release of Jonathan Coulton‘s “Creepy Doll”. We’ve got our traditional full band preview video to showcase a little bit of what you can expect in terms of the charting, but we’ve also got a first here; a solo vocals run, captured specifically to showcase the background imagery. For a song as rich in atmosphere as this, the lighting, animations, and camera cuts had to be just so, and hopefully we’ve accomplished that goal here. Take special note of the pulsating lights flicking on and off, throbbing in time to that oh-so-sinister doll’s heartbeart. And if you like what you see, please be sure to mention so in the comment section below!

A quick note, too; if you haven’t been following us on Twitter, or haven’t subscribed to us on Youtube, these videos are probably totally new to you. On the other hand, if you have been following us and subscribed to us, you already know, since you get the latest updates and videos as soon as they go live! So don’t wait. Go! Be busy social networking bees! Buzz. BUZZ!
